BRIKEN GLASS

BROKEN GLASS

The child had mild unruly hair,
Black face diamond she shares,
Ruffle her frock, eyes attractive,
Sharp nose, white teeth, achieve,
Looked once at her, a village girl,
Her childish smile, innocent world,
Etched in my memory long ago,
Felt pity uneducated lacked ego,
Grew up, beautiful, unmatched,
Migrated to urban life attached,
Melodious her song, dance, a tribal
Caught public attention electrically,
Market icon for cosmetics, dress,
Gold ornament bangles impress.
Her property assets, apartment, car,
Tribal, a village girl to a female at par,
Saw her picture, life story disbelief,
The girl I saw once, happy in relief,
She had the mirror in her possession,
Manicured attire adds emotion,
This was her only asset to mint gold,
Mirror oval her face, hooked life bold,
She heard her parents had passed away,
Looked like a ghost longed for a boon,
All her assets, gold money, failed a fact,
Parents departed, with less return in fact,
Shattered her life, she lost her brother,
No more looked a carrier, less bother,
Decided, returned, village firm house,
The broken mirror lacked a spouse,
Cousin sister, a creeper swinging rope,
Her life-broken mirror song is her hope.
