AGONIES OF THE PAST

Loved the heart, looked like long hair,
Sparkling eyes emulated a deer pair,
Eyebrows, if arrows, long nose, lips,
Earrings, a necklace, surprises, sips, (1)

Intoxicated proposed yet rejected,
A life was in sorrows, felt dejected,
Submerged in a silent tear unspoken,
Sadly, he lost her without a fight (2)

Searched for her in a park, a bus stand, lit,
Unable to find her rationality drift,
The pain stayed as insane in horror,
Ever love, a bond snatched forever, (3)

Long beards, torn clothes, unsavory,
He was sitting on a platform, sorry,
Utter disbelief that he found her looking,
Failed to respond, his soul mistook, (4)

Shriveled skin, sunken eyes, smoking,
The misery, torture, she was crying,
Could not tolerate his condition, hug,
His inert body lost emotion or throb (5)

Lo, united the couple love springing,
Blissful married life is a time of singing,
Their children's studies were going well,
Happy parents, children's results excel, (6)

Chicks fledged, flew far off, settled,
Sweet home, couple's desires fade,
The man reclined in the chair vacantly,
Leaned her head on his chest fully, (7)

Memories flooded both of them lightly,
The sadness of missing time is slight,
Sitting close together, love is everlasting,
Tears sipped lips, agonies of the past, (viii)
