Thousand years an ancient people,
Human mind detached, peace simple,
Cruelty, aggression, death, violence,
Cities burned, plundered, rest pittance,
Hunger, poverty, sufferings endless,
The golden age of land was a past pitiless,
Fractured thousands of tiny kingdoms,
Great Indus civilization flourished,
Gold, jewels wealth, knowledge exist,
Savage inner fight mindless continue,
Small kingdoms dissolve, empire new,
Destruction of empires to small pieces,
Great people ancient, wisdom misses,
Society sank in Dark Age fear hunted,
Days of horse, elephant, sword, wicked,
Himalayan peninsula under darkness,
Birth of Adi Sankar, Buddha awakens,
Lord Mahavir, Guru Nanak enlighten,
Filtered great people to purity, brighten,
Immortal teachings after realization,
The object of human life on world salvation,
Pure mind get liberated from bondage,
Bondage is a society, family, self linkage,
Freedom from temptations, desire, lust,
The soul is deathless, life independent most,
Monkhood, the birth of hatred to ignorance,
Bondage to social life, desire persistence,
Work for livelihood, shelter, family more,
The temptation for greed, wealth, ego enamor,
Enlighten prophets’ messages address,
Wealth, power, race, clan seed of distress,
Division of class, untouchable, poor, rich,
Disintegrated ancient systems beyond reach,
Childhood in hermitage, youth with family,
Old age in the forest alone, pilgrimage mostly,
Classless people, casteless were divine,
Krishna was a cowboy, Ram was a king,
Both were non-Brahmins, Yadav, Royal,
Hindu faith represents as Avatar regal,
Messages edict preaches casteless mind,
Pure, divine life, simple, peace well find,
No fear of death, rejection of all violence,
Family life needs to serve, least pretense,
Mutual love, share, quit negative attitude,
Scope human life to seek truth beatitude,
Realization of truth annihilate fear, lust,
Annihilate cruelty, tension, suffering most,
Calmness, bliss, everlasting happiness,
Awesome long life, pilgrimage envisage,
Monasteries took roots for practice n stay,
For preaching, spreading messages, way,
Youth, mold to monastic life, single traveler,
Hindu, Buddhist, Jainism, Sikh preacher,
Length n breadth of a populace, rock-carved,
Monastery took shape, near temples saved,
A bright culture epic, Nalanda depict well,
Asiatic of scholar, teacher and disciple swell,
Palm leaf scripts, ancient manuscript old,
Library in study, priceless document gold,
Today independent nation owes monasteries,
Dilapidated, in ruins, rock carvings mysteries,
Picture of Nalanda, burnt to ashes, ruins tragic,
No more monks in travel, cleansing pure,

Modernity depicts an insane mind wild, lustrous,
Monasteries missing, hotels, hostel fabulous,
Priests are world trotters, wealthy in comfort,
Monastery, solitude, silence, single monk taunt,
Inclines again to luxury, comfort, wealth most,
Puritan a lifestyle, nature-friendly, truth is
