INDIFFERENT HEART

 

Eve of the year, the river of wine,

Fireworks lit the sky, in between,

Illuminated and decorated trees,

Plenty of hot cakes, sweets, gifts, (1)

 

Humans sink into the river dance,

Nightlong merrymaking enhances,

Shed the burden of life or horror,

Forgot pain, miseries, and torture, (2)

 

Drunk, driving vehicles met death,

Left the weeping family, a length,

Shattered the hopes, aspirations,

The leftover, a story or emotions, (3)

 

Touched me, pavement dwellers,

Chilling cold night in an open space,

Felt tears for them in the New Year,

Matters least to their lives, better, (4)

 

Surrender to a cruel fate, destiny,

No one with them, the company

Callous luxurious lives evade well,

The division of the humans, fuel (5)

 

Lost inspirations, viewed contrast,

Pray for peace and progress, first,

Homogeneous growth or harmony,

The landless possess a roof, many (6)

 

A plot to cultivate, wish livelihood,

Meanings of a new chapter brood,

Happiness and pleasure truly feel,

Humans get equality, free, reveal, (7)

 

No discrimination, smiles spread,

Indifferent heart changed, tirade,

May the year transform life well,

May hope rule the heart prevail. (viii)
