SHADES OF HAPPINESS

Innocence, childhood, and blossoms,
Water, air, and sunlight sprout a seed,
Leaf seeks, sunray, grows fast indeed,
Deprived kids want education frown, (1)

Ignorance, ill health, and shattered life,
The book is a daydream, school attracts.
Bondage of child labor food distract,
Broken hopes, tearful smiles at strife, (2)

Play in the cornfields, fear the flood,
Illiteracy, unfit for a job, city life scares,
Possible to be lost, concrete absurd,
Lap of the nature village folks share, (3)

Unknown, a teacher teaches, and nicely,
Preaches under a tree, a blackboard,
Chalk, duster, he explains, note lovely,
Pen and pencil he provides yet affords, (4)

Selfless motive to motivate children,
Let them learn to read and write well,
Books are the windows, eyes smitten,
Candlelit heart self-aware, to prevail, (5)

Under the shade of a tree life grows,
Shining bright life knowledge shows,
Fit for college, university, and career,
The teacher continues his job, a peer, (6)

Sunshine, education, inspirational,
Peace and prosperity, phenomenal,
Rustic kids today respect citizens,
Responsibility, duty, result shaken, (7)

A tree, a temporary class, and slates,
Question, answers verbal, debates,
Enchant lives, shades of happiness,
Sunrays of wisdom filter impressively. (viii)
