THOUSAND DREAMS
Born out of the pond, pure and fragrant,
Lotus, unpolluted by water, is
significant,
Born in the lap of nature, innocence
says,
A village girl, lovely in her looks, displays (1)
Attractive attire and admired
simplicity,
Sans gold, jewelry, ornaments,
assiduity,
Silent eyes, voiceless interest
transmits,
Unspoken words to a stranger shy limits,
(2)
Thatched cottage moonlight percolates,
Stars through gaps of straws attenuate,
Bustling city life, mall, avenue,
unknown,
The golden crops, green hills, life
shown, (3)
A peasant's daughter helps her father
well,
Bright sunshine, bullock cart, trees
dwell,
Under the shade of a tree, rice water
life,
Noise of crows, bullock moos apart
strife, (4)
Fear of draught, flood, furry harvest
near,
Worried family farmer collects crop
here,
Ocean of hope, infinite love sweeps
clean,
Blue sky, white clouds sail likely
entwine, (5)
Her penetrating eyes and lips indicate,
Surprised with a stranger, vive
estimate,
Vivid her fantasy bangles, colorful attire,
Emblem of divine beauty, city life
satire, (6)
Never seen school college happy books,
The temple stone idol holds her prayer
hooks,
Not mansion gadgets, assets, and
travels,
Limit the village boundary, life
unravels, (7)
Unearthly peace and bliss her children,
Thousand dreams, imaginations wane,
Far from the mundane world of urban
life,
Far from nightmare and morass, strife.
