SHUN THE LIMELIGHT

Life is a mission, misunderstood.
Prosperity and glamour are food,
Sadly, a soul yearns to be famous,
Knock at the door, unknown curios, (1)

Inevitable exploitation suffering,
A painted face of modernity sings,
Below the skin, it is immeasurable,
The pain and hunger mix is visible (2)

Floodlight, posters, and applause,
Melts very soon, all failure causes.
Public memory is short and fades,
No more favorite pictures tirade, (3)

A limousine and a mansion are old,
Time steals quickly, and gold is sold,
Age is not pink youth, it is shriveled,
A realization dawns that life unraveled, (4)

People who know avoid surprises,
Where has fame missed, realized?
Wasted years missed a family, kids,
Stays alone, aloofness hurts needs, (5)

She looks from the balcony, charms life,
Playful children's parents face strife,
Not a popular, scintillating presence,
Home is their world to live an essence (6)

Continued her thoughts, immersed,
What she achieved found remorse,
Rising every day, teenagers in a line,
Hungry to be rich, dreamed, shine, (7)

Lotus blooms, rose petals fragrant,
The next morning, another flower rant,
Settle calmness and quiet eyesight,
Happy at home, shuns the limelight. (viii)
