DEFY THE DARKNESS

 

Predator, fear in the mind stalks,

Stroll on the pavement or walk,

Opaque to searching eyes doubt,

Imaginary ghost troubles sprout, (1)

 

Weeping lamppost, fireflies buzz,

Killing the surreal silence, it causes

Not a sight of a human in a lonely place,

Hunting feeling, anxiety, disgrace, (2)

 

Unique experiences, identity lost,

Chilling bones fight, live at a cost,

Fewer matter gold property view,

Primal instinct to escape or a few (3)

 

The glowworms tree and branch,

Shimmers cold winds, dry leaves,

Bonfire, a few people's warm arms,

A passerby took a long relief, live, (4)

 

Enchroaches fog moistens the face,

Distant home reminds, its surface,

indistinct reach destination sadly,

Path of life in the darkness madly, (5)

 

Mission and destination of the haze,

Each step of life progresses a phase,

Proceeds human, relentless, hope,

Believe the sunrise finds the scope, (6)

 

Impermanent the darkness in fact,

The mind harbors blindness intact,

Horrors, a temporary phenomenon,

The night, dark, the path, motivation, (7)

 

Instinct warms the pitfall and saves,

Defy the darkness, protect life well,

Peace and tranquility, pacify, prevail,

The night, illusory, and life paves. (viii)
